Major Works 2022: Balcony Tile Selection

The following “common” replacement tile has been selected for those balconies requiring remediation as part of the 2022 Major Works (see picture below).

The selection was made after taking advice from contractor Sutech, consultant/project manager Sutech and several Owners.

The tile colour is “Travertine Ivory”. Its size is 300mm x 600mm (one of the two sizes recommended by Sutech for installation), and it is rated P4: the highest anti-slip rating available. It is anticipated that the walls abutting the tiles will be re-painted the existing “Magnolia” colour, or something very similar. Overall building colour is currently being assessed.

Product supply is a huge issue at this time and is set to drive price rises in the near future, so the SC has been forced to act quickly to secure the bulk order of tiles required.

Therefore it is URGENTLY REQUESTED that if any Owner facing balcony remediation and tile replacement DOES NOT want the “common” replacement tile laid on their balcony, they notify the Chairperson IMMEDIATELY on [email protected]. (This means that the Owner will be responsible for sourcing and (possibly) supplying their own tile up to the budget of $70 psm and paying the difference if over the budget price).

A sample of the “common” replacement tile will be on display in the ground floor foyer until Sunday evening, as final quantities must be secured on Monday. The SC apologises for this, due to the lift outage/weight of tile.

Thank you.
