Acoustic Dynamics was engaged by the Owners Corporation (SP3840) to conduct representative
floor impact sound transmission tests to determine the acoustic performance of various partition
floor/ceiling systems within the residential building located at 51-53 The Crescent, Manly, NSW,
and to provide recommendations for development of a new building standard relating to the
installation of hard floor coverings within the building.
Note should be made that amendments to floor coverings within the subject residential building
are unlikely to affect the airborne sound transmission performance of the relevant floor/ceiling
partition. Accordingly, this report does not include an assessment of airborne sound transmission
performance of any proposed new floor coverings, as this is not considered necessary.
