ABC sets date for strata exposé

The ABC’s Four Corners program is set to air an investigation into unethical practices within Australia’s strata industry. Earlier in the year, the ABC reported that Netstrata, a strata management company, was overcharging apartment owners through its insurance arm. In response, the NSW government introduced new legislation, but the ABC received over 2000 public responses, prompting further investigation.

The upcoming episode, The Strata Trap, promises to expose widespread corruption and negligence in the strata industry, with a focus on insurance practices and broader issues. It features allegations of unethical behavior, while Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly will appear, denying some accusations.

This investigation follows ongoing calls from consumer advocates for action against these questionable practices, raising significant concerns about how regulators will react to the findings. The program is expected to uncover deeper issues beyond just insurance, signaling a potentially major shakeup for the industry.
