NorthConnex now connects Sydney with Central Coast and Hunter Valley
About the new tunnel
The nine kilometre tunnel in Sydney’s north links the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 Motorway at West Pennant Hills. It has two 3.5m wide lanes in each direction and extra breakdown lanes on each side to reduce incident delays.
Changes to truck routes
Trucks and buses over 12.5m long or over 2.8m clearance height travelling between the M1 and M2 will have to use the tunnels unless they have a local destination only accessible via Pennant Hills Rd. Cars and recreational vehicles (e.g. motorhomes) will still be able to travel on Pennant Hill Rd. The new regulation is being introduced by the NSW Government. Tolls on NorthConnex
Toll prices for NorthConnex will be aligned with Hills M2 Motorway pricing. They will start at $7.99 for cars and $23.97 for trucks. You can work out the cost of your trip in advance using our online toll calculator.
